Two years in the making, the Bendi European Truck is a hybrid of the original Bendi forklift truck and the traditional stacker truck which is already widely used in the European markets. Bendi’s European Truck is set to provide all that a stacker truck can offer reinforced with Bendi ingenuity and engineering expertise. Bendi unveil brand new European product at IMHX

Designed to give Bendi aisle performance whilst retaining many of the features which have made the award winning Bendi the first choice in articulated forklift trucks, the new European model has a patented articulated steering system unique to this truck. This dramatically improves the lateral, forward and backward stability of the common stacker format, allowing mast height of 7m plus.

This new design also dramatically improves its ability to travel across uneven floors lending it to be capable of some external as well as internal duties as can a Bendi. The Euro stacker model is far lighter, allowing Bendi to deliver the new range at extremely competitive prices and will be available as a pedestrian, stand-on and eventually as a ride-on model – offering complete flexibility to the European market.

The IMHX exhibition will see the official unveiling of the truck to the industry. Simon Brown, Managing Director for Translift Bendi explained: “We have been working on the European Model for two years, meticulously checking every detail until we were sure we were ready to compete in the European market. Our Euro Stacker has increased aisle performance over conventional trucks and will work in VNA aisles, has increased capacity we are able to offer a better, more versatile usable product, at a very competitive price to our clients who use the European pallet.
Although aimed at the European market, the European Truck will be fully manufactured in the UK at the Bendi manufacturing plant in Redditch, Worcestershire. Simon Brown concluded: “Redditch is the most competitive place for us to manufacture the new European trucks – we need to take full advantage of the expertise of our employees ensuring that we continue to provide the quality Bendi has become synonymous with.”

The Redditch-based firm is flexing its muscles in the demanding cold storage sector and has drawn on its 20 years of industry expertise and knowledge to develop a full coldstore cab.

Now, for the first time, cold storage companies can benefit from the superior1.6m aisle performance that Bendi and its solutions have become synonymous with.“We do have an impressive foothold in the retail and FMCG markets,” explains Bendi Managing Director, Simon Brown. “However, this latest edition to the Bendi portfolio willenable us to make even greater inroads into an area that has historically been forced tostruggle with compromise.”

Often considered to be as the most expensive form of storage, the management of coldstores has, up until now, been limited to using only reach trucks or very narrow aisle (VNA) solutions.“The impracticalities of these trucks in a cold storage environment are relatively obvious,” says Brown. “Reach trucks require much larger aisles so true storage efficiencies aren’t achievable, whilst traditional VNA solutions can cause other issues such as wire guidance problems.

The new Arctic Bendi, which has been specifically adapted for the cold store environment, will help to reduce the cost of cold storage. With its 1.6m aisle performance, the Arctic Bendi offers great space and time savings in a comfortable, heated, enclosed cab.
